The Team


The team at TFS are a group of individuals passionate about delivering value to our customers. We do this through our unique design thinking approach backed by our extensive technical expertise in the industry.

With the key technology of our core products, we have secured a market niche internationally. From R&D, yarns, fabrics, to post processing, and garment production, our R&D team participates in every production process to provide our clients with comprehensive solutions.

We're here to help with any problem. Think of us as your own in-house technical support team, but less expensive and a greater range of experience. With over 150+ years of combined experience there isn’t much the team at TFS hasn’t seen.

  • Managing Director, John Agius, commenced his career in the thriving heydays of the Melbourne textile industry, in the late 1970’s. At the Commonwealth Dyers Association (then to become Austrim Textiles), John worked his way from Laboratory Technician through to Senior Dyehouse Manager. Between multiple short overseas projects, John’s next major project was the building and commissioning of “Logan Textiles” dye house in Brisbane in 1996. Years spent at Logan Textiles became the knowledge base that TFS has today, particularly on elastane based substrates.

 

Advanced Manufacturing


TFS is constantly looking for new ways to innovate in fabric processes and machinery. With a key focus on sustainability TFS has invested in manufacturing technology to achieve an efficient and low-carbon energy system.

Investments in manufacturing technology has enabled TFS to achieve advanced visualization, increased efficiencies, improved quality and productivity through a better decision making process.

The skilled team at TFS have a sound understanding of production management philosophies which allow TFS to excel in an industry that has otherwise stagnated in Australia. To survive in the Australian textile industry, TFS became flexible and adaptable in it’s business model. TFS does this through constant reassessment if the textile market, both locally and internationally.

 

Research & Development


A move away from the commodities market has meant that R&D has been an intregral part of the TFS business model.

Having the ability to develop a completely tailored fabric from ground up has allowed clients to excel and stay ahead of market trends. No matter the complexity or end use, we have the technical capabilities to develop, source and deliver.


 

Vertically Integrated Manufacturing

 

TFS manufactures for all scales of production - from complex R&D to on-demand sampling to full-scale mass production onsite at our facility on the Gold Coast, Australia.

Excellent strength, elasticity, lightweight and resistance to sunlight is why nylon is the number one choice for swim and activewear.

Elastane

Elastane or Spandex fiber is one of the most commonly used fabrics in the apparel industry, prized for its elasticity to increase comfort, durability and fit.

Modacrylic
