Responsibly sourced goes beyond sustainable materials. TFS has long standing relationships with it’s suppliers and ensure transparency with all materials sourced and used.
TFS offers a range of certified recycled fibers including recycled polyester, recycled nylon, recycled elastane as well as an extensive range of natural, organic and regenerated cellulose fibers. While many perceive man-made fibers in a negative light, recycled synthetic fibers are sourced from what already exists in the world, negating the need to generate new materials and reducing the carbon emissions created in the manufacturing process.
Optimised Manufacturing
TFS is committed to continually optimising production processes and machinery performance to reduce the facilities footprint. Throughout the year of 2021 TFS successfully reduced it’s total energy intensity by 28.9%.
Better Cotton
The practice of sustainable cotton sourcing takes into account environmental, social, economic, and ethical factors to create a responsible product from seed to sale. We take a zero tolerance approach to unethical behaviour. Not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s the right way to do business.
Powered by Renewables
The manufacturing industry is one of the biggest consumers of electricity in the global energy market. With the growing awareness regarding the environmental degradation caused by traditional sources of energy, a shifting towards solar power was a viable means of clean energy at TFS.
Sustainable Innovations
To propel the environmentally conscious movement forward, new developments must be used to transition to sustainability. TFS is committed to continually trialing new production methods and innovative materials to stay ahead of the market. Sustainable textile fibre innovations are at various stages of development but in recent years many have begun scaling up as brands, supplier partners and consumers push to accelerate market readiness.
The largest pollutant in textile manufacturing is liquid waste. That is why the TFS facility is committed to the highest standard of water management and onsite treatment of liquid waste. Water from the dye process is stored and continually reused in non-sensitive dyeing processes. Where it can’t be recycled, liquid waste is treated at the onsite effluent plant before safely re-entering the environment.
TFS is committed to improving systems to reduce waste intensity and ensuring that sustainable alternatives that can re-enter the circular economy are first choice. With the help of EcoBiz, TFS reduced the facilities total waste intensity by 17% throughout 2021.
